USE AN ADvatar – GAIN ONLINE EXPOSURE

Nope! That is not a typo.

I’m creating custom ADvatars for those who want to advertise their blog or a product (such as an ebook) with their avatar (the little picture or graphic we often see in the comment sections of blogs, on Twitter, Facebook, as well on on other social networking sites).

As discussed in the comments of the “How Branding Works In Blogosphere” post, in most cases it is via the avatar how bloggers are recognized. It was also mentioned how too often the name of our blog gets overlooked.

Hence, ADvatars – a way of not only sharing your photo, but getting your name or your product in front of others.

To show what can be done, here’s a small sampling of how advertising can be added to your current avatar.

Let’s say I wanted to advertise this site by it’s name and what I am offering. I could use something like this.

Here are custom ADvatars I’ve created for bloggers in the Blogging Without A Blog community. Just click on the ADvatar and you will be taken to their awesome sites.

Vered’s love of blogging inspired her to become a freelance blogger and social media consultant. She creates search engine optimized (SEO) content for her clients and helps them establish an online presence on Twitter, Facebook and/or Linkedin, as well. To stay in touch with the acquaintances she’s met online, Vered can be found on her personal blog, MomGrind.

Davina’s love of the written word can be evidenced on her blog, Shades of Crimson. When she’s not blogging, she can be found editing and proofreading for her clients or coaching her clients on how to “render the write impact”. I created this ADvatar for Davina’s writing workshop.

Betsy of PassingThru, and Lori, author of Think Like a Black Belt the blog and ebook by the same name, met via blogging and joined forces after realizing they had both encountered and dealt with narcissists in their lives. In the hope of helping others, they collaborated on “The Narsiccist: A Users Guide” ebook, a fabulous resource which is free to download.

Keep in mind, if you decide to make your own ADvatar you’ll want the text to be somewhat legible. However, as the size of the ADvatar decreases, the type may become too small to read. Although others may not be able to make out what it says, it may make them curious enough to click through to your blog or website.
